AstraGate's traffic gets to the Internet through two OC12(622Mbps each) connections!  The OC12s are actually part of a dual OC48 (2.488GBbps each).  Plans are in place for OC192.   Basically, bandwidth problems won't exist for us in the future.  All of this would be in comparison to others who use only single T1s(1.54Mps) and/or single T3s(45Mbps).  AstraGate was one of the first companies to announce traffic sent through dual OC12 connections.  This was possible with our business relationships with such companies as Level 3.  AstraGate began it's relationship with the now well known company of Level 3 early on, while the company was in it's infancy.  As a result, we have been able to get early pricing and develop a special relation between the two companies that allows us to provide one of the best quality services in the US.

Most of the hardware involved in the network through which your traffic would flow or be effected by are Lucent and Cisco products.  DNS servers, mail servers, and other servers are either built by our engineers or purchased from well know manufactures.  Smaller miscellaneous fast Ethernet switches used within customer cabinets are from NetGear, Intel, 3COM, and SMC.
